Charlie Kirk founded TPUSA along with Bill Montgomery in 2012. TPUSA was founded with the mission of educating and training Americans to promote freedom. It has grown to have over 3,500 clubs in American schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grove City College\u2019s Turning Point USA chapter had its first meeting of the year from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 10 in Staley Hall of Arts and Letters Room 110.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The college\u2019s TPUSA chapter was founded in the 2025-2026 school year. President Moira Donovan started the chapter in response to Kirk\u2019s assassination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donovan said she did not want Kirk\u2019s work to be silenced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to give students confidence to stand up and speak up for what they believe in a God-honoring way,\u201d Donovan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirk\u2019s assassination impacted three in 10 Americans to take some form of action according to a Barna survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGrove City has such a conservative student body. \u2026 I remember seeing so many things on the sidewalk the days after (Kirk\u2019s death),\u201d Donovan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCharlie Kirk was a huge inspiration to me, and he modeled a media path to follow on how to talk to people and how to approach different topics,\u201d junior political science major Ricky Andrews said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TPUSA meeting began with the six executive members of the club introducing themselves. After introductions, the beginning of Jubilee\u2019s \u201cLiberals and Conservatives Are More Similar Than You Think |Spectrum\u201d YouTube video was played. The group then performed an activity in response to the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the activity, two videos about Charlie Kirk\u2019s legacy were played, and the room opened for discussion about Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was one of the most impactful people in my life,\u201d freshman psychology major Lucky Springer said. \u201cHe was a fire in a dark forest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting ended with a devotional about Kirk\u2019s personal motto, Isaiah 6:8, \u201cHere I am! Send me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want the date of his death to be forgotten,\u201d Donovan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
