Believe it or not, Grove City College is about halfway through its fall semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fall midterm time, generally this week through the week after fall break, can be an interesting time of year. I have always felt it is a time to assess where I am in many parts of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My grades often come to mind now, but other aspects of my life are more important to focus on. My habits regarding my progress in my relationships with God and others seem the most significant, but various tasks I have been neglecting also tend to surface during these weeks. And I should improve them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As this edition of The Collegian publishes, nine weeks remain until the first day of finals, eight weeks not counting Thanksgiving recess. Plenty will change. The temperature outside will get colder, classes will probably get harder or something will break and become a minor or major inconvenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the incoming gloominess of midterms, finals, the weather or anything else you can imagine can\u2019t also change all the good you have done. Yes, you can focus on the bad, as I often do \u2014 and we should remove the bad from our lives \u2014 but we should keep the good, the fun, the excitement, the friends, the fellowship and the delightful as part of our college lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

College is all about balancing our time, and if we can keep our commitments balanced through these remaining two months, I\u2019d say we did well. And perhaps some pleasant surprises may be in store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
