Thank you!

This has been a historic year for the Perspectives section. The numbers speak for themselves: In our 20 editions, we have featured 48 different writers. 48! We premiered a new writer in almost every edition, and our writing team represented all years and schools.

We had debates on AI, chapel speakers, the Reformation and interfaith marriages. We have dedicated editions to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the adoption of the new statement of faith, the scandalous Crimson Card+ and my personal favorite, the celebration of Grove’s 150th birthday.

This year, it has been a gift and a joy to read and work with the college’s best student writers as Perspectives editor.

To our writers, thank you for your contributions. The quantity and quality of this year’s submissions have overwhelmed us, and we are so grateful for it. To our readers, thank you for engaging with our student writing: From personal conversations to faculty emails to all-campus group chats, conversation about Perspectives articles abounded this year, and whether you approved of the opinions expressed or not, your contribution to the campus conversation has been invaluable.

Lastly, thank you to Kathryna Hoyman, Emily Fox, Nick Hildebrand and President Lingo, my incredible bosses. Through it all, you remained steadfastly loyal to The Collegian’s commitment to free expression, honest journalism and excellent reporting. I could not have gotten through this year without your grace and support.

Here’s to another year of excellence in Perspectives!
